My name is Annie and about 13 years ago i was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease and POTS.
Crohn’s Disease is a condition where the gut becomes inflamed and POTS, which stands for postural tachycardia syndrome is when your heart rate increases when standing over 130 beats per minute without moving and when you lay back down it goes back to a normal base heart rate. POTS has many symptoms which can include lightheadedness, fatigue, palpitations, bad blood circulation and so on. I will write a more detailed post about POTS in my blogs as no body yet knows what causes the effect of POTS.
Although i was diagnosed with Crohn’s i was sure that i had a problem with inflammation in general all around my body. The doctors prescribed me steroids and other inflammatory drugs. Although they worked whilst taking them, the minute i stopped using them the issues would return and the long term effect of these drugs aren’t good for your health. The POTS also improved with the medication which says to me that POTS is your body reacting to your nervous symptom being out of balance and also has something to do with your immune symptom.
I decided i wanted to try and get to the root cause and try and prevent inflammation before it takes hold. I have done a lot of research and trials to find ways to help my body balance.
Cold water therapy has become one of the best anti-inflammation help for me. It stimulates my vagus nerve and helps reset my nervous system daily.
I have now been Crohn’s and symptom free for three years and i love to help others with aultoimmune and inflammatory conditions as well as helping people live a life of well-being and happiness.
